Portrait Session or Game Action Session?

Over the past couple of months, I've been chatting on here a bit about what Sports Portrait and Action Sports Sessions look like with me. If you want to know the difference between the two, I encourage you to check out those linked blogs to learn more. Today, we'll be chatting about some reasons you might want to choose on or the other for your athlete.

What is your goal for these photos?

We live in a digital age. We have photos on our phones and computers and social media accounts for days. I love that we have a way to easily share photos with family and friends all over the world through this medium. So perhaps if you have family who cannot come watch your child compete on a regular basis, you might want to pick an Action Sports Session. This way you can share that image of your child sliding into home widely with your family and friends.

Are you looking for art to display on your walls of your athlete? Then a Sports Portrait session is for you. I will take time to create different looks for your athlete from posed to dynamic that you will cherish for years to come.

Team Media Days

Does your team need a banner to display on the dugout as you travel the DFW area and beyond? Do you need to create some promo ads for your upcoming senior night for basketball? What about getting your town hyped for the rival football game? If you are looking for dynamic, engaging, and fun images to create a buzz about your athletes and teams, then a Sports Portrait Session is right for you.

Your team is celebrating milestones.

As our athletes grow, they celebrate so many milestones. If this might be the last year your soccer team plays together before they age up to the next division, you may want to book an Action Sports Session. In the early years of baseball and softball, there are so many milestones to celebrate like the first time you play coach pitch and the first time your child pitches. Each of these are an excellent opportunity to have me come out to help you remember the love your athlete has for playing this game.

Your child has other interests than just sports.

I know I have talked a lot about sports on here because, well, I am a sports photographer, but when I was sharing some Sports Portrait photos I took of my own children with a friend, she asked me if I could take epic photos of her kids doing crafts and reading. Of course I can. My entire goal with photography is to celebrate the things that make your family unique, the things that make each member of it come alive. If your child or athlete has other interests besides sports, I want to celebrate those! A sports portrait session is right for you. If they're an athlete and talented musician, let's create timeless images that portray all of the things that make them so awesome. Or if your child is not drawn to sports at all, but you love this style of photography, we will make whatever their interest is come alive in photography.

So which session is right for you?

I hope that chatting through some of these different scenarios helped you decide which type of session you might want to do. Contact me with any questions and to start planning your athlete's session.
