Grapevine Family Photo Locations
One of the questions I get the most is, “Where should we take our photos?” I thought I would give you some examples of different locations in the Grapevine area so that you can have an idea of what location may suit your family best for your photos.
When thinking about where to take your photos, think about what your family enjoys. If you don’t like bugs and being outside, no one says that you have to have your photos in a field. If your family would rather be camping and jumping in the lake, then we are not going to go to an urban area. Your family will be most relaxed in a place that you feel at home.
Bob Jones Trails, Southlake
What it offers: Walking paths, trees, fields, beautiful sunsets, lake access.
There is a bit of a walk to this location on uneven ground. Not the best for strollers or those with limited mobility.
This location is prime in the fall, but also beautiful in the Spring. Winter can be barer, but still great. This is my favorite location for family photos.
AW Perry Homestead, Carrolton
What it offers: An old barn, beautiful trees, a porch, and garden
The parking lot is right next to the site. It is just a bit further away from Grapevine.
Bear Creek Park, Grapevine
What it offers: Walking paths, trees, bridges, creek access (with a little bit of a hike), playground and bathrooms on site.
McPhereson Park, Colleyville
What if offers: Beautiful trees, barns, fences and windmills. Playground and bathrooms are on site.
In the fall, the grass can have stickers. For this reason, I HIGHLY recommend closed toe shoes at this location for everyone. I have spots we can go to avoid the stickers, but it is a consideration, especially for families with young kids.
Your home
What it offers: Comfort and coziness. You don’t have to load up the family to go anywhere or find shoes even. I highly recommend in-home sessions for newborns and summer sessions.
My studio, Grapevine
What it offers: A simple, timeless background to highlight the love that is in your family. There’s no distraction of background and you don’t have to clean or incur a studio cost. You can choose from a simple gray background or a cozy living room set. Either will show the beauty, closeness and joy in your family. Benefits: we don't have to worry about North Texas weather! There are no sudden storms, 100 degree days, or mosquitos the size of your face. Indoor studio sessions are season-less. If you want to get your holiday card photos done when your college students are home for the summer, we can do that in studio and you can wear those cute sweaters without melting in the Texas summer heat. Does your vision for your one-year old's birthday session involve the beach, but we are having our yearly ice storm? No big deal, we can make that happen!
Which is your favorite location?
Which of these location fits your family needs the best? The DFW area is big and I'm always on the lookout for new spots to photograph, but these are some of my tried and true favorites. Book your session here and let me know where you want to create some wonderful memories.
